                                            Greetings!
We are delighted that you have taken this opportunity to visit Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, Theta Chi Omega Chapter’s website! The purpose of our site is to provide you with information about our programs and events designed to serve the needs of the Grand Rapids community.

Chartered in 1969 by 15 dynamic women, Theta Chi Omega Chapter is committed to ensuring we have a profound impact by continuing to perpetuate the legacy of “Service to All Mankind.”  We pride ourselves on being a vibrant and growing chapter of over 100 college-educated women who work enthusiastically to positively impact our community.

Under the leadership of our 31st International President, Danette Anthony Reed, Theta Chi Omega Chapter is excited to implement our 2022-2026 International Program
, "Soaring to Greater Heights of Service and Sisterhood."  President Reed’s international program will address the needs of the community under six initiatives.

  •  Strengthen Our Sisterhood (Foundation Initiative)
  •  Empower Our Families
  •  Build Our Economic Wealth
  •  Enhance Our Environment
  •  Advocate for Social Justice
  •  Uplift Our Local Community

In addition to international program initiatives, we take pride in our local initiatives. Theta Chi Omega Chapter Ivylettes mentoring program has been in existence for over 40 years.  The objective of the program is to provide an environment where young ladies kindergarten through twelfth grade are exposed to academic excellence and the importance of serving the community. Our Fashionetta® Honors Program is an eight-month personal development program offered every other year. Participants experience a journey of events and activities to broaden their perspectives educationally, socially, and culturally.

Our two signature events, Kentucky Derby Themed Scholarship and Stepping Out for Scholarship, are major scholarship fundraisers that provide financial support to graduating seniors furthering their education after high school as well as high school underclassmen participating in summer academic programs.
