Welcome

Thank you for visiting Theta Chi Omega Chapter’s website! Theta Chi Omega is proud to continue the legacy of leadership, sisterhood and service of our great sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, founded by 16 visionary women in 1908. Chartered in 1969 by 15 dynamic women in the Grand Rapids community, Theta Chi Omega Chapter is a vibrant and growing chapter of over 80 women who are committed to providing service to the greater Grand Rapids community.

Theta Chi Omega Chapter is excited to implement our 2018 - 2022 International Program," Exemplifying Excellence Through Sustainable Service℠." The program components focus on five targets:
  •      Target 1 -- HBCU 4 Life: A Call to Action
  •      Target 2 -- Women’s Healthcare and Wellness
  •      Target 3 -- Building Your Economic Legacy
  •      Target 4 -- The Arts!
  •      Target 5 -- Global Impact
In addition to our commitment to these program targets, our chapter is proud to support its local program initiatives. Our youth Rosette/Ivylette program, winner of the 2016 Phyllis Scott Activist Giants Award, mentors over 100 girls in kindergarten through 12th grades. Theta Chi Omega Chapter’s Fashionetta® Honors Program is an eight-month personal development program, offered every other year, which culminates in a debutante presentation at a grand gala.

Our annual signature event Stepping Out for Scholarship, is our major scholarship fundraiser and is sponsored by our philanthropic arm, 15 Pearls and a Promise. Since its inception in 2011, we have awarded 93 iPads or laptop computers to graduating seniors and supported 33 high school underclassmen with financial support for summer academic programs and travel.

We hope you will visit our website often to learn more about our work in the greater Grand Rapids community and upcoming events. Members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated are welcome to come to our chapter meetings.  Please contact us for more information.

Best Wishes,
Jamie Gordon
