STOMP OUT
STIGMA WALK
2026

May 16, 2026 - The women of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® Theta Chi Omega Chapter would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Grand Rapids community and surrounding areas for your generous support of our Empower Our Families Initiative: Stomp Out the Stigma Mental Health Walk. 💚🩷

Because of your kindness, donations, encouragement, and support, we proudly surpassed our fundraising goal of $500 to help support mental health resources and awareness in our community. Your contribution helps us continue important conversations, provide support, and advocate for mental wellness for all.

Together, we are helping break barriers, raise awareness, and stomp out the stigma surrounding mental health.

If you have not yet had the opportunity to donate, there is still time! Please feel free to use the donation link to support our efforts and make a difference on our behalf.

On April 11, 2026 - Theta Chi Omega Chapter proudly hosted a collaborative Regional Tree Planting Day of Service alongside Nu Theta Chapter (Grand Valley State University), Iota Sigma Omega Chapter (Kalamazoo), and Delta Chi Chapter (Western Michigan University).

We were especially honored to have our Youth Leadership Institute (YLI) scholars join us in this meaningful work. A heartfelt thank you to Friends of Grand Rapids Parks for hosting and partnering with us.

Together, we planted 16 trees on the west side of Grand Rapids and worked to clean up Fish Ladder Park along the Grand River—making a lasting impact on our community and environment.

A heartfelt thank you to Friends of Grand Rapids Parks for sponsoring this incredible event and making it possible for us to make such a powerful impact.

January 20, 2025 - Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.® Theta Chi Omega Chapter honored the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. during our

“WE ARE ONE” AKA Day of Service. Members of Theta Chi Omega along with our Ivylette youth group enjoyed our time at Delaware Manor where we shared MLK history facts, donated hygiene and cleaning supplies and served refreshments.

It was a honor to serve alongside our Great Lakes Region Program Chairman Jackie Davis-Betserai.
